When I learned that fractures in gemstones can heal themselves over the millennia through various processes, but always with the catalyst of water, I began thinking of gems as living things rather than inanimate stones. In the ancient world, the vibration levels of various gems were believed to have the power to heal and many healers suggested wearing certain gems to create a desired effect.
