Subtle and elegant, the Amore Series is designed with romance in mind. They are tomorrow's heirloom pieces for your wedding, anniversary or any memorable occasion.
The Contessa Series is my tribute to the "every woman" of Venice, a medieval city-state of merchants with little class differences. Trade ships brought gemstones, amulets and pearls from the far reaches of the globe. Most women, whether musician, mask-maker, seamstress or lady of leisure wore jewelry, unusually in single strands or chains around the neck. Contessa (countess) became a term of familiarity or affection, rather than a title of rank.
Following the fashion of the 17th century, these pieces often incorporate "found treasures" old amulets, ancient metal work, perhaps a jade medallion from a mandarins coat, a carved sard cameo, or engraved stone charm.
The Di Murano Series combines vintage and modern Venetian glass beads and pendants with gemstones and pearls. Venetian glassmaking is a tradition rooted in antiquity dating to the Roman era. The glassmaker’s guild moved to the island of Murano in 1291 and closely guarded its secrets. Enameled glass (applied patterns) crystalline (transparent), aventurine (with flecks of gold), chalcedony (resembling gemstones), Milfiori (multicolored, especially with a floral motif) and lattimo (opaque and milky) are among the special types of Venetian glass.
Time shimmers in ancient multicolored blown glass, and I try to capture the essence of Venetian color and light with these designs.
The embellished architecture of noble residences along the Grand Canal inspired me to create Palazzo, featuring large gemstones in their natural or simple faceted form. I emphasize the color and beauty of the stones themselves. Many pieces have a structural or architectural feel, imitating gothic carving, Greek columns, Byzantine arches and Moorish screens.
The bold statements made by these unique and unforgettable pieces are like the palaces themselves—unforgettable.
Venice had no princesses; they abounded in most other city-states in Italy and throughout Europe. During the months of carnivale anyone could be royalty for a night.
My principessa series of multiple strand necklaces, bracelets, and earrings are designed for festive occasions and the special moments of your life when you deserve to feel like a princess. Many stylists also use them with starkly simple business suits
Water Spirit, Spirito d’Acqua is the essence of Venice. Improbably perched atop tiny islands in the lagoon, Venice is a city of watery reflections and winding canals.
Water spirit is the most modern and youthful of my series. These necklaces, bracelets and earrings seek the spirit living in each gemstone. I try to imitate the motion and lucidity of water, whether in rivers, waves, raindrops, reflective pools, tidal eddies or waterfalls.
Since time began, gems have been worn as talismans to protect and strengthen, good fortune, abundance, health and prosperity. Many are religious amulets, prayer beads, or represent a sacred place or person. The ancients believed gemstones were the embodiment of the stars and heavens here on earth, and so assigned each stone a special property. Often gemstone were carved into a special shape or engraved with magical symbols to increase their power.
